An Angel in Disguise

"Stop moving," Sandy groaned, desperately willing the bed to stop swaying like a banana boat.

"Not moving, shhhhh... sleep," Random told her groggily.  "You drank too much."

The couple settled back to sleep.

"OH FORKING PLUMBBOB!" Sandy yelped when the sun streamed through the window.  "Random! The blinds!" she flailed her arm towards the window, trying to pull the blasted thing down lower.  Just the act of moving set off her pounding head.  With a groan, she collapsed back to the mattress, squeezing her eyes shut.

"I'm never drinking agian," she vehemently swore when an urgent need to throw up swept over her.  Sandy leaped from bed, holding her hand against her mouth and ran as fast as she could to the bathroom.

There was nothing quite so humbling as sprawling over the porcelain throne praying you were done throwing up
Despite feeling like crap warmed over, Sandy still threw her uniform on and headed to work.  She shielded her eyes from the bright sun as she stepped outside.  Plumbbob, now she knew how vampires probably felt!

Random had been pretty wiped when he got home and saw the mess from the party Sandy had thrown.  The room had been dark, but he'd carried her to bed.

Now, in the light of day, this place was  a wreck.  He eyed the questionable puddle close to the couch where Sandy had been passed out.

He didn't even want to know..

"Hello, you've got Random," Random said, answering the phone a few beats after it started ringing.  He heard the caller breath a few times and then the phone disconnected. "What the hell?" he murmured, setting the receiver down. Must be a wrong number, then put it out of his mind.

Random had something weighty on his mind.  He invited gal pals Lyndsey and Daniel over to run it by them, see if he was crazy.

"You know I don't want to work in the food industry for the rest of my life, right," he started out by saying.  "Well, I had an idea..." he added slowly.

"Well, tell us," Danielle prodded impatiently.

"Random took a deep breath and launched into his speech. Man, he should've prepped for this a little bit more in front of the mirror!

But, by the time he finished his vision, he could tell he'd sparked both gals interest.

"Yes, do it!" Lyndsey said with a cheerful clap.

Danielle nodded. "It would be pretty bad ass, if you ask me."

Random let out the breath he'd been holding, waiting for their reactions.  "You guys are the best!"

After such a serious talk, the three quickly loosened up and flicked a stupid movie on.  Lyndsey laughed, shaking her head. "Be right back, I gotta go pee!"

"TMI!" Danielle said with a smirk.

Sandy walked in and immediately saw red.

"I go work all day and then come home and find you cozied up with her!" she seethed.  "Find your own man," Sandy switched gears and shoved her finger at Danielle.

"What are you talking about?" Random asked, taken aback with surprise.

"I knew you were too good to be true! I KNEW IT!" Sandy yelled, storming to the room and slamming the door shut.

"Whoa, I'll be right back," he told Danielle, hopping up and hurrying to follow Sandy, not really sure what set her off.  He gave a half-hearted smile to Lyndsey as he paced her in the hall with her mouth gaping open.  How embarrassing!

Danielle didn't move a muscle, just arched her eyebrow disdainfully at the jealous rampage.

"What are you even thinking, coming in the house like that?" he asked her, starting to get a little heated himself.

"I saw you guys on the couch together!" she snapped. "Don't deny it!"

Random pushed his fingers into his hair with frustration. "Watching a movie!" he defended himself.

"That's what happens!" Sandy cried out with pain.  "Things are going great and then you go out to get some milk and stay out all night!" She angrily wiped at her tears.

"Babe," Random said, reaching up to stroke her cheek.  "I'm either all in or not at all," he promised her.  "You get me?"

Sandy squeezed her eyes shut and sniffled sadly, starting to calm down.

"Tell me you get me," he told her, waiting for her to open her eyes and see the earnestness in his.

"I get you," she said quietly.  "I think I'm going to lie down for a little bit," she added.  "I'm still not feeling great."

Random gave her a tender kiss and went out to say goodbye to the girls.

"Time to go, huh?" Danielle said knowingly, giving him a hearty hug goodbye.  "Don't put up with crazy shiznit," she advised him before they took their leave.

There probably wasn't a better time to read Lifetime Happiness, Random thought, ignoring the irony.  (Personally, I think he should be reading Couples Counseling!)

Sandy came out a couple hours later and plopped on the couch next to her boyfriend. who was uncharacteristically quiet.
"I'm sorry," she told him, subdued.

Random put the book to the side.  He wasn't really getting into it anyways.  You couldn't read about how to live a happy life - you had to get out and do it.

"There was something I was wanting to talk to you about anyways," he told her, not really sure if now was a great time to get into it.  Ultimately, he decided to just dive in.

He had a vision for a place for pleasure-seeking Sims to go when they wanted to kick back and relax. He just needed someone to invest in his dream.... someone that had just sold a priceless artifact, perhaps.

They'd settled on a 70/30 split since she was fronting most of the money and he didn't have as much on the line and shook hands.

The Boolprop Bop!

Business started out slow, but he was hoping it would grow as word of mouth spread.

That wasn't the only change.  Random sold the death-trap trailer and selected a pre-fab starter home to be built on the lot.  It was surprising how fast it went up.

Sandy splurged on decorations a little bit, wanting to make the place feel like home.
Even though the bedrooms weren't large, they were bigger than what they were used to, plus they had their own master bath en suite.  Sandy just loved saying "en suite"!

It was nice being able to sleep in now that she was on maternity leave.  She glanced towards Random and nudged him.  "Come on, wake up," she told him. He was not a morning person, which was unfortunate since he was now working the morning shift.

Random set the toaster pastry in front of Sandy. "Eat up," he told her.  He seemed to be more doting now that she was expecting.

"Thanks," she told him, digging in and taking a large bite.  She was always hungry now.  Random had started just giving her double helpings.

"So what are you up to today?" Random asked, checking his watch and wincing when he realized he didn't have much time before the carpool came.

"Oh nothing special," Sandy told him.

The horn outside let him know his time was up.  Rnadom dropped his pasty and raced to his room to get ready.

"Have a good one, Babe!" he called as he tucked his shirt in on the run.

"You too!" she called back.

"We've got to stop doing this," she said in between kisses, ending her statement with a sigh as Sinjin kissed her ear.

Sinjin nodded, backing Sandy towards the bed. "You're right. Last time."

She eagerly agreed.
"Come on, Sinjin, you know you can't stay," she said, yanking the covers off of her lover.  She handed him his clothes, trying to hurry him on his way.

Sinjin buckled his belt and paused, looking up at Sandy.  "It doesn't have to be like this, you know," he told her.

Sandy put her hands on his chest and toyed with the strings on his hoodie.  "We've gone over this. We're no good together. Besides, I'm pregnant!"

A serious look crossed his face.  "It could be mine," he told her stubbornly.

She let out an exasperated sigh.  "I'm too far along," she told him what the doctor had told her.  "There's no way the baby is yours." Their affair had started shortly after her champagne binge, after Random started spending more and more time at the Boolprop Bop.

She stroked his cheek, "Last time, remember?"

He nodded curtly and walked away, his stride heavy with anger.

Plumbbob, what was she doing?

Random got back from work and shut the door quietly behind him when he saw Sandy asleep on the couch.  She looked like an angel, so sweet and innocent, laying there with her hands curled under her cherub cheek.

*AN - In an alternate apocalyptic universe, Sandy and Sinjin wound up having a wrecking-ball affair after meeting during a small, friendly gathering.  Is it One True Love or dirty, rotten cheater syndrome? ;)
